Our Programs
Legacy Group Development offers programs that support education, health, and community well-being across Macon and Peach County. Each initiative is designed to meet practical needs, create access, and strengthen the people we serve.
Legacy Readers on the Rise After School Program
Legacy Readers on the Rise After School Program provides tutoring in reading for
students ages 5-12. Program participants engage in group discussions to promote
social skills while building confidence to read publicly for academic success. Structured
lessons, group activities, skill-building exercises, and interactive games are
integrated into reading to make reading and learning fun. Program participants learn
phonically how to sound out words to increase fluency, speed, rhythm and cadence.
Students also learn techniques to improve comprehension which help them retain
information.

After School Program
Our After School Program gives students a structured place to learn, practice, and grow through reading support, academic reinforcement, and guided activities. Students are grouped by age, work with an instructor, and receive a snack and beverage after each session. Meets every Wednesday from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm at the Preston Williams Center in Montezuma, GA.

Adults and Seniors Computer Class
This weekly class helps adults and seniors build confidence with technology through guided instruction on computers, tablets, and laptops. In partnership with Fort Valley State University, participants use the North Star Program to build skills they can continue practicing at home. Meets every Wednesday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Thomas Public Library in Fort Valley, GA.

Summer Camp
Legacy’s Summer Camp gives children ages 5 to 12 access to educational tours, crafts, and engaging activities that expand learning beyond the classroom. The program is designed to make education enjoyable while exposing students to new experiences at the Preston Williams Center in Montezuma, GA.

Voters Education
Through our partnership with Peach County High School’s Work-Based Learning Center, we educate young people on the importance of civic engagement while providing them real-world political work experience.
